DIGITALSPEC Awarded Contract with DHS Customs and Border Protection (CBP) Agency to Develop and Implement the Credibility Assessment and Polygraph System (CAPS) and Oversee Operations and Maintenance of the Security Management Assessment Risk Tools (SMART)

(DSPEC) is excited to announce a new contract with the Department of Homeland Security’s (DHS) Customs and Border Protection (CBP) agency that provides oversight and management of the Credibility Assessment and Polygraph System (CAPS) and the Security Management Assessment Risk Tools (SMART). DSPEC’s organizational perspective and proven experience developing and deploying systems and software within the CBP environment, provides a solution that leverages a product suite that is already securely operating within the CBP boundary.

DSPEC has been a proud supporter of the CBP mission since 2014, providing exceptional service to the U.S. Office of Professional Responsibility (OPR) supporting the Operations and Maintenance (O&M) of the legacy SMART system (SharePoint and SQL Server), the OPR CBPnet Collaboration site collection, and the development, engineering, and integration of CAPS that is built on top of DSPEC’s Investigative Case Management System (ICMS) product.

CAPS streamlines the process of polygraph assessments for stakeholders and achieved its objective to enhance data capture, validation, and reporting of statistics related to polygraph assessments. CAPS also serve as the repository for all correspondence, documentation, workflow management and artifacts related to all polygraph assessments to ensure compliance with federal records management requirements. Currently, CAPS processes between 150,000 and 180,000 single transactions every day.
