Washington, DC – April 23, 2012 – The U.S. Commodity Futures Trading Corporation (CFTC) Office of Financial Management awarded International Business Machines (IBM) a 5 year Blanket Purchase Agreement (BPA). Under subcontract to IBM, DIGITALSPEC is providing technology expertise in a variety of areas critical to the success of this BPA.

The CFTC is responsible for regulating commodity futures, derivatives and option markets in the United States. Globalization and the increasingly competitive environment of the financial markets and the expansion of the worldwide electronic market place have driven market participants and the Commission to increase their use of automation. CFTC Mission-critical applications and data reside on servers operating on Microsoft 2003, with Microsoft SQL Server databases being accessed from .NET, SAS, Excel and Commercial-off-the-Shelf (COTS) applications and connected to a storage area network (SAN).
