DIGITALSPEC donated backpacks for students in need in our community. Church_BackpacksThe one and only classic backpack, will fit all of our student’s school necessities with ease. These backpack are durable with padded shoulder straps for added comfort and will give our student’s space to organize their school supplies and essentials. DIGITALSPEC supports Greenbriar West Elementary School Needs

Greenbriar West Elementary School is located in the Chantilly area of Fairfax County. The school serves a close-knit community where staff and parents work together to educate students in a diversity of programs. English language learners, services for students with disabilities, and an Advanced Academic Center give Greenbriar West the unique opportunity to respect differences and support an environment where there is “pride in school and pride in performance.”

 

 

 

June 4, 2011 – Washington DC

DIGITALSPEC participates and supports in Susan G. Komen Global Race for the Cure in Washington DC comn-1–  Team DIGITALSPEC and nearly 40,000 others descended on the National Mall to participate in the 22nd running of the Susan G. Komen Global Race for the Cure® in Washington, D.C. The event raised more than $5 million to fund breast cancer programs for women in need throughout the National Capital Area and across the globe. Thanks to the Global Race, Komen is able to impact the lives of breast cancer patients in the National Capital Area as well as women across the globe. Up to 75 percent of the Race revenue remains in the D.C. area. comn-2 The morning’s festivities, emceed by W*USA’s Andrea Roane, WASH-FM’s Maureen McLain and WTOP’s Man About Town Bob Madigan, opened with a Survivor Parade featuring more than 3,100 breast cancer survivors and 16 international flag bearers who marched onto the mall to a live performance of “We Fight Back,” an inspiring song by singer and American Idol semifinalist Tim Halperin. Celebrity fitness trainer Holly Perkins helped warm up the crowd as they prepared for the morning’s 5k walk. President and CEO, Dr. Charles A. Dadoo, participated as a walker and had this to say, “It’s a great cause and I am proud to be here today to do my part in raising awareness. It is through events like this that allow us to give back to the community.” Thank you to the DIGITALSPEC runners, walkers, volunteers and the monetary donations. We could not have succeeded without the help of all who participated. See you all again next year!
